Hunmanby Surgery opened in December 1989, to serve all the residents of Hunmanby and the surrounding population. Car parking is convenient in front of the surgery for blue badge holders and on the road outside.
Under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (The Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009 Part 4), the registering body (Hunmanby Surgery) is required to provide to the Care Quality Commission’s statement of purpose.

Our purpose is to provide patients registered with the practice with personal health care of high quality and to seek continuous improvement on the health status of the practice population overall. We aim to achieve this by developing and maintaining a good practice which is responsive to people’s needs and expectations and which reflects whenever possible the latest advances in Primary Health Care.
Extended Access
On the 1st October 2018, our surgery joined with 8 others in the Scarborough area to provide extended access for patients between the hours of 7am and 8pm Monday to Friday, and weekend access on a Saturday and Sunday. This was an 18 month pilot project originally commissioned by Scarborough and Ryedale CCG. The extended access provision will continue throughout our service due to it’s success.
Every participating practice is CQC registered. The extended opening hours are being covered by each surgery on a rotational basis. Patients can be seen in any of the following premises:-
